Brooklawn Child and Family Services is a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility with close ties to the United Church of Christ. The center is a Metro United Way Agency and is accredited by the JCAHO. Located on Goldsmith Lane, Brooklawn provides housing, schooling and treatment for over 100 boys and girls (ages eight to seventeen) with severe emotional and behavioral problems. In addition, they work with six families in their own homes in an attempt to prevent institutionalization.
Rev. Harlan Beckemeyer serves on The Brooklawn Board of Directors and members serve on various committees. St. Andrew is represented on the Brooklawn Auxiliary by several church members. The auxiliary sponsors money-making projects in order to raise funds for "extras" for the residents. We also have volunteer tutors at Brooklawn.
